Propagation & Nursery Supervisor – Hope facility
As Rubicon Organics expands our cultivation footprint in our state-of-the-art indoor facility in Hope, B.C., we are seeking a passionate and organized Propagation & Nursery Supervisor to oversee early-stage plant care and propagation. Reporting to the Cultivation Manager – Hope, this role is responsible for supervising mother plant health, clone production, and early vegetative growth across multiple genetic varieties, ensuring consistent throughput, plant quality, and genetic integrity.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management:· Lead and coach a team of propagation technicians to execute daily mother care, cutting, sticking, and transplant activities.
· Foster a culture of cleanliness, consistency, and accountability in the nursery environment.
· Deliver hands-on training for propagation SOPs, sanitation, and genetic tracking.
Propagation Operations:· Oversee health and productivity of mother plants and ensure propagation targets are met by cultivar.
· Maintain ideal environmental conditions (temperature, RH, lighting, CO₂) for rooting and early veg.
· Adjust clone recipes, humidity ramping, and spacing schedules based on cultivar performance.
Genetic Management:· Ensure accurate labeling, tracking, and staging of all cultivars in propagation.
· Support phenotyping and tissue culture preparation as required.
IPM & Sanitation:· Collaborate with IPM and irrigation leads to ensure pest prevention strategies are integrated into nursery routines.
· Maintain strict sanitation protocols to reduce disease risk during the most sensitive plant stages.
Documentation & Compliance:· Maintain propagation logs, success rates, and task tracking in inventory systems.
· Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations and Rubicon SOPs.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years in cannabis propagation or similar horticultural production.
· Experience leading teams in a fast-paced nursery or greenhouse setting.
· Knowledge of propagation media, rooting stimulants, and environmental controls.
· Familiarity with cannabis genetics and phenotypic variation.
· Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
· Comfortable with Excel, inventory software, and digital task systems.
