Project Serve Crew Supervisor/Instructor 

Project S.E.R.V.E. maintains a dual-purpose: To contribute to our community while improving the lives of individuals.  While training our members in the necessary skills for long-term employment, the program focuses its energy on improving Baltimore City’s communities by cleaning and maintaining abandoned properties.

 The Neighborhood Stabilization Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and Operations Assistant  of the Project SERVE Program.  The instructor is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with instruction and leadership of the Neighborhood Stabilization Crew of Project SERVE.  This includes program implementation, evaluation, administration, members’ training, and members’ management.  In addition to strong organizational skills, the Supervisor/Instructor will be required to draw on knowledge and skills to implement the proper completion of assigned properties by DPW and provide procedure training and equipment operation training to crew leaders and crew members. 

Direct responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Requesting all administrative supply orders to Operations Assistant.

-Helping to evaluate and monitor program progress and outcomes.

-Ensuring that all Neighborhood Stabilization vehicles have been checked daily.

-Reporting to the Operations Assistant when Neighborhood Stabilization vehicles are in need of report.

-Ensuring the timely completion of properties.

-Ensuring that crews are following all program guidelines (uniform compliance, punctuality, attendance, work quality, etc).

-Be reachable at all times while on the job (from clock-in to clock-out).

-Write ups for any member who is not complying with program guidelines.

-Attend weekly staff meetings.

-Create a weekly schedule of tasks and duties and submit to Operations Assistant.

-Conduct bi-weekly safety workshops with crew leaders and crew.

-Reporting of any unusual occurrences to Operations Manager.

-Building contacts and relationships with the city, businesses, and surrounding residences of areas in which crew is working.

-Handling questions/concerns with surrounding neighbors.

-Ensure that all weekly evaluations of each member on crew are submitted to Operation. Assistant.

--Coordinating teams and workloads.

-Training crew chiefs.

-Ensuring the quality of pictures completed and turned into Operations Assistant at the end of day.

-Ensuring that dump yard is cleaned daily.
