Location: Hybrid: Virtual with some in person
Compensation: $ 25.05- $27.29 hourly

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is a community-based, non-profit organization serving immigrant and refugee women and their young children since 1975. PIRS delivers accessible, inclusive, low-barrier programs for immigrant and refugee women and their children that create a sense of belonging, meaningful participation and leadership.
The Program Facilitator will deliver the programming for the Women Support Circle to support Arabic-speaking immigrant and refugee women in building resiliency. The Facilitator will also provide information, resources, and assistance in linking individuals to PIRS and community programs, settlement services, aiming to establish trust, foster inclusion, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FacilitationImplements session curriculum for targeted programs to meet the specific needs of various immigrant women following the PIRS curriculum framework
Assists with planning for guest speakers and special events
Establishes clear objectives for all program sessions and communicates those objectives to the participants
Develops respectful, collaborative relationships with clients using a client-centered and learning-focused approach
Provides a positive environment in which participants are encouraged to actively engage in the learning process
Provide one-on-one support to program participants as needed
Provide cultural interpretation and language support as required
Encourage and support participants’ access to other resources and services through information, referral and bridging services as required
Delivers the curriculum in accordance with PIRS’ mission and standards
Provides feedback on the curriculum to better meet the needs of the program goals
Uses various adult learning methods and techniques to share information and resources
Works collaboratively with co-workers to coordinate and enhance the program
Works collaboratively with the staff of the host site
Administration
Participates in regular team meetings
Participates in orientation and training sessions as required
Keeps participant attendance records
Drafts narrative and impact reports as required
Submits required paperwork on time (time sheets, expenses, etc.)
Participates in program evaluation reviews
Liaises with PIRS staff, and community partners
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience facilitating group programs for immigrant and/or refugee women
Excellent oral and written English and Arabic language skills
Experience working with immigrant &/or refugee women and understanding of women’s issues
Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural setting and practice cultural humility
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to adapt and learn quickly; growth mindset
Experience in leadership development, capacity and community building
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, both in teams and autonomously
Proficient in using various software and digital tools
Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
Understanding of the intersecting barriers and unique needs of immigrant and refugee women
Non-judgmental and positive attitude towards diverse cultures, religions, races, genders, sexualities, and special needs free from stereotypes
Passion for inclusivity and diversity, with an interest in being part of a multicultural team
Attitudes and values aligned with the goals and philosophy of PIRS
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a temporary contract position 10 hours/week for the duration of the program (January – March 2025)
Evening and occasional weekend work may be required
Work will be virtual, with limited in person
Program delivery activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to carry out duties
Clean criminal record check required
