Program Coordinator for Employment Support Program for Youth - Community Connections Centre
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)
Reports To: Community Connection Centre Manager
Responsibilities:
The Employment Support Program for Youth (ESP4Youth) is an employment and career preparation skills building program for individuals age 16-29 with barriers to employment. The main objective of ESP4Youth is to provide participants with the necessary skills to obtain and maintain meaningful employment. The goal is to either secure employment or return to school in order to obtain meaningful employment in the future.
As the successful candidate, the Employment Program Coordinator will oversee the delivery of three (3) 16-week intakes of the Career Enhancement Program, with each intake accommodating 16 participants. The Program Coordinator will be responsible to recruit and interview prospective participants, conduct program on-boarding, facilitate and/or coordinate trainings/classes along with necessary case management, reporting and data entry requirements.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education and/or experience working with at-risk individuals;
- At least 2 years experience in integrated case management, particularly in employment/career related services, programs, and interventions;
- Certification and/or demonstrated experience in the delivery of life skills programs would be considered an asset;
- Must pass YWCA Security clearance with a successful vulnerable sector and criminal background check;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Thorough knowledge of community resources, supports, and other agencies;
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are essential;
- Must own a vehicle and possess a valid driver's Licence.

Duties:
- Provide a safe, confidential, & judgement-free environment;
- Manage program caseload (recruit, interview, on-boarding, and case management for duration of the program);
- Assist participants in applying for Education & Training Incentive (ETI);
- Deliver and/or facilitate programming following a program outline which includes life skills and career enhancement instructions and mentorship. This outline is flexible depending on the needs of the participants;
- Facilitate group discussions;
- Arrange for participants to obtain certain certificates;
- Find work placements for participants;
- Make appropriate referrals and liaise with other community supports and services;
- Complete reporting and follow-up as required;
- All other duties as requested;
