About Us
At Lakota Family YMCA, we’re committed to building a healthier community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and dynamic Program and Wellness Director to lead our youth and adult programs, including operations of our fitness facility, group exercise, and wellness initiatives.
Position Summary
The Program and Wellness Director is responsible for developing, managing, and evaluating a wide range of YMCA programs. This leadership role oversees fitness operations, ensures high-quality staff and volunteer performance, maintains safety standards, and supports the overall mission of the Lakota Family YMCA.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise youth and adult programs to meet the needs of the community.
- Develop new program initiatives in alignment with strategic goals.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
- Oversee daily operations of the fitness center to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and coordinate the service of fitness equipment and schedule group fitness classes.
- Review and ensure up-to-date certifications in First Aid, CPR, and related training.
- Create facility activity schedules, including gymnasium and special programs.
- Assist with marketing and promotion of programs.
- Manage program budgets to meet financial goals.
- Support fundraising efforts and YMCA-sponsored events.
- Participate in special projects and committee meetings as assigned.
- Collect and analyze program data to evaluate success and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in program management, wellness, or fitness supervision preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- CPR, First Aid, and other fitness-related certifications (or willingness to obtain).
