The role of Production Supervisor is crucial to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production process. The Production Supervisor oversees and manages the production team to achieve production goals, maintain quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols.??

Responsibilities

Shift Management

·       Manage and oversee the afternoon shift (4p-12a) of Production Operators and Leads.

·       Ensure the successful completion of the daily production schedule assigned by the Production Supervisors.

Staffing and Labor Management

·       Assess labor needs and make necessary adjustments to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Production Coordination

·       Delegate and coordinate daily production activities, including processing, extraction, and packaging, among the Production Operators.

·       Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the specific production activities being supervised. Updates SOPs where required.

Sanitation and Quality Control

·       Enforce and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the production area.

·       Accurate and timely completion of inventory and quality record-keeping.

 Training and Development

·       Conduct training and onboarding programs for production operators.

·       Provide on-the-job training and coaching to drive performance improvement.

 Equipment Operation and Maintenance

·       Understand the operation of all production equipment and train Operators accordingly.

·       Work with the maintenance team to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules and timely resolution of equipment breakdowns.

 Continuous Improvement

·       Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as directed by Production Managers.

·       Provide feedback to Production Managers on equipment improvement opportunities.

 Safety and Compliance

·       Ensure that Production Operators are aware of and follow safety protocols and SOPs.

·       Document and track training related to safety procedures and SOPs.

 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·       Maintain accurate and timely KPI tracking files.

 Additional Duties

·       Fulfill other duties as assigned by Production Managers.

·       You are a vocal leader with a strong enthusiasm for cannabis – while experience with cannabis is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

·       You demonstrate leadership through setting a high standard and consistently striving for excellence in your work.

·       You possess a genuine passion for coaching and mentoring junior staff members, fostering their growth and development.

 

Requirements:

·       Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced production setting, managing a team of at least 20 staff members.

·       Proven track record of coaching and training staff members to achieve optimal performance.

·       Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, demonstrated through previous experience.

·       Flexibility to work varied and flexible hours as required, including weekends.

·       Proficiency in Spanish, Hindi or Punjabi is considered an asset.

·       Possession of a Health Canada Cannabis Act security clearance is considered an asset.
