Job Title: Production Scheduler       

Reports To:   Manufacturing Manager  

FLSA:  Non-exempt 

SHIFT: 7 AM -4 PM (M-F)

Job Summary – Schedule production for all products produced at Solo using SAP Operating System. This includes playing an active role in long term planning, on demand planning and transferring component parts to finished goods inventory. This position works closely with Assembly Employees, Team Leaders, Sales Employees, Quality Assurance Technicians, and the Production Manager to ensure expectations are met. This position is highly visible and operates under standard procedures and guidelines. Attention to detail is imperative.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the MRP program is updated monthly or as new information is provided from the sales forecast.
  • Verify that all bill of materials are current, complete and accurate. Establish a new bill of materials as needed.
  • Finalize daily sign over the procedure by 9:00 am.
  • Review sales forecast revisions with manufacturing manager.
  • Provide in house printed labels/materials for production requirements.
  • Coordinate production requirements with offsite contractors.
  • Monitor inventory levels on all products produced by the manufacturing department and ensure minimum inventory levels are maintained.
  • Monitor inventory levels on all component parts used in manufacturing, conduct inventory counts as needed.
  • Ensure material handling employees are trained on proper material handling procedures.
  • Confirm that storage locations are maintained by material handlers on an ongoing basis. 
  • Review and understand all policies and procedures detailed in the Solo Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and foster a positive team environment.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  •  Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to read, understand and execute documents, procedures, reports and intercompany correspondence.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines that may be challenging at times.
  • Ability to work under limited supervisory guidance.  General internal policies, operating guidelines or standard procedures are utilized.
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Experience with SAP, MRP, and Valogix.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective decision-making skills.
  • Leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to work with others effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, such as procedure manuals, reports, and intercompany correspondence.
  • Computer skills to manage and process data for use with this position and others using standard Microsoft office programs, calculator, printer, phone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Standard mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to organize and delegate duties effectively to ensure proper execution.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

 Education & Experience:

High School Diploma and 4-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Physical Requirements:

 Seeing:  This individual must be able to read instructions or diagrams and operate material handling equipment.

Hearing/Talking:  Must be able to communicate with others by means of spoken words. Must be able to follow verbal instructions. Limited portions of the workday require talking.

Sitting/Standing/Walking:  Must be able to maintain mobility.  This position requires the employee to sit and or stand for extended periods of time. 

Climbing/Reaching:  Frequent climbing and reaching are required for this position. 

Bending/Stooping/Kneeling: Occasional bending/stooping or kneeling to obtain materials. 

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling:  Must be able to use hands and fingers to work with parts, tools, and equipment. Manual dexterity is essential to this position.

Lifting:  Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and infrequent lifting up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment.  Exposure to moving mechanical parts; moderate exposure to extreme heat/cold; hazardous chemicals; loud noises. Appropriate safety equipment and training are provided.  

Attendance Requirement: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm; 40hours weekly and overtime as required.
