About the Role

We are looking for a Tax & Compliance Product Owner to join our development team. In this role, you will:

• Lead a development team consisting of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Business Analysts to develop and release compliance and tax-related product enhancements.
• Work on the Millennium desktop application requirements and improvements
• Research federal, state, and local tax and compliance requirements, write user stories, and prioritize the team's backlog to meet strict deadlines.
• Proactively communicate with government agencies to ensure understanding of, and adherence to, detailed requirements.
• Collaborate with company and department leadership to manage the product backlog in accordance with company's strategic goals.
• Create and communicate product release plans.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members as a people manager.
• Work regularly with other product owners, as needed, to address cross-team dependencies.
• Identify areas of improvement across your team and collaborate with career coach to help drive individual growth.
• Facilitate resolution of related software support issues.

What Do You Need?

• A bachelor's degree in a related field of study, OR relevant work experience
• 2+ years working as a product owner or in a related managerial capacity
• 5+ years working in software development or within payroll software
• Strong ability to multi-task and shift priorities to support the team's goals
• Commitment to meeting strict deadlines
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder requests
• Preferred qualifications:
  • Compliance / tax knowledge
  • People management experience
  • Ability to read and understand C++ code
  • Payroll industry knowledge
