Product Engineer – YT Platform (US Market Focus)

Position within the Organization

• Works under the direction and assignment of the Platform Manager YT.
• Works closely with the CAD Engineering department in Benschop to ensure alignment on standards, methodologies, and technical quality.
• Coordinates and aligns work with Process Engineering (PE) in TTAM and Benschop, focusing on manufacturability, production processes, and industrialization.
• Final responsibility, technical decision-making, and release authority reside with the Platform YT organization in Benschop.
• This position has no direct reports.

Purpose of the Role

To design, develop, and detail vehicle options and variants within the YT platform, with a specific focus on the United States market, operating fully within the priorities, governance, and release authority of the Platform YT organization in Benschop.

Role Description

• Develop and detail 3D components, assemblies, and vehicle structures for YT vehicles.
• Engineer and document options and variants tailored to the US market.
• Support local sourcing by adapting designs to local (US) suppliers and manufacturing capabilities.
• Produce production and release drawings for review and approval by Platform YT.
• Support prototype builds, validation, and implementation activities.
• Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and platform consistency.
• Perform all activities exclusively based on assignments from the Platform Manager YT.

• Receives all tasks, priorities, and assignments exclusively from the Platform Manager YT.
• Works within established YT platform architecture, design guidelines, and standards.
• Works closely with CAD Engineering in Benschop on CAD standards, tools, methodologies, structural design principles, and calculation methods.
• Aligns technical designs with Process Engineering (PE) in TTAM and Benschop regarding manufacturability, production feasibility, assembly, and production processes.
• Develops US market options and variants within the YT platform.
• Delivers all technical outputs for review, decision-making, and final release by the Platform YT organization in Benschop.
• Supports local sourcing initiatives in coordination with Platform YT, Process Engineering, and CAD Engineering Benschop.

Role Characteristics

The Product Engineer works independently on assigned tasks under the direction of the Platform Manager YT, while structurally coordinating with CAD Engineering Benschop and Process Engineering (PE) in TTAM and Benschop. The role does not carry release authority; all releases are performed within the Platform YT organization in Benschop.
