Pricing Associate
Job Summary
Pricing Associate employ pricing strategies that meet their stores' standards, policies and procedures. They ensure that salespeople and marketing employees comply with pricing changes. They also make sure that markdowns and store signage changes are accurately applied in an efficient and timely manner.
Pricing Associate frequently monitor store pricing systems, advertising media and registers for pricing accuracy. They help their stores drive sales, increase profits, meet productivity standards and remain competitive with similar retailers. They also help ensure that customers have smooth and enjoyable shopping experiences.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
· Regularly reviews prices for all grocery items to ensure accuracy, initiates price changes and ensures that all items are accurately marked and signs for products are updated promptly
· Conducts price checks for cashiers for unmarked items
· Daily review of all tag maintenance including weekly ads and specials to ensure accuracy of pricing to register system
· Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
· Identify pricing trends and evaluate main issues and take necessary action on determined opportunities
· Update pricing information clearly
· Resolve time cost discrepancies on supplier invoices
· Work with other teams (ex. cashiers, sales, etc.) to ensure that business needs for pricing and cost communication are met
· Ensure that the systems required for data support are checked and confirmed daily
· Review costs to lessen price discrepancies
· Perform other duties as required
Requirements Qualifications
· Able to work with computers and be proficient in spreadsheet and database programs, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, respectively
· Written communication and mathematics skills required
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to analyze complex situations and make recommendations
· Organization skills with the ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar quantitative field
· Previous experience working in retail, and some also require previous experience in marketing
· Bilingual Spanish/English
