As a newly acquired, this Ayers-owned HVAC and plumbing business, is seeking a President to lead the company’s next chapter of growth. This is a rare opportunity for a proven operator or entrepreneur to step into the lead role, take full P&L ownership, lead a team of skilled tradespeople and office staff, and drive results across customer experience, financial performance, and market expansion—especially in the residential segment.

As President, you’ll be responsible for the overall strategic direction, performance, and leadership of the business. You’ll serve as the bridge between day-to-day execution and long-term growth, empowered to make decisions that shape the company’s future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full P&L and strategic direction of this newly acquired commercial HVAC company, with oversight of all departments—field service, operations, finance, sales, and customer experience
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members across the business, ensuring alignment with company values and operational excellence
  • Build and execute a scalable growth plan, with emphasis on expanding the residential service division
  • Drive financial performance—improve job margins, reduce inefficiencies, and unlock profit growth
  • Ensure high-quality execution and top-tier customer satisfaction across all job types and verticals
  • Use tools like ServiceTitan and QuickBooks to maintain visibility into performance metrics and job costing
  • Report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the Ayers leadership team on long-term planning, potential M&A, and organizational development
  • Act as the public face of the company in key partnerships, recruiting, and community engagement

What Success Looks Like In This Role:

  • The commercial business remains stable and strong, with job margins improving through better execution, pricing discipline, and accountability
  • A residential division is built from the ground up—including hiring techs, crafting a go-to-market plan, and aligning service offerings with Ayers’ established playbook
  • Residential revenue becomes a meaningful and profitable new leg of the business, with potential to outpace commercial over time
  • Customers in both commercial and residential channels experience top-tier service, communication, and follow-through
  • KPIs like job margin, service revenue growth, callback rate, and employee utilization are actively tracked and improved
  • The team is aligned under a clear vision, with strong leadership in the field and office, and clear lines of accountability

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience as a President, GM, COO, or business owner/operator, preferably in the trades
  • Proven leadership of a P&L-driven business, with strong financial acumen and KPI ownership
  • Deep understanding of HVAC/plumbing operations and the ability to lead teams in both the field and the office
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action—able to move between the big picture and ground-level execution
  • Familiarity with field service software (ServiceTitan) and small business financial tools like QuickBooks
  • Bonus: Licensed in HVAC or plumbing (not required)

Compensation:

This role offers a salary range of $100,000 - $125,000 and a clear path to ownership. Equity grants will vest over time, with terms and percentage negotiated based on experience and alignment. You’ll be building a legacy and brand with staying power—and have a seat at the leadership table as we scale.
