Pre-Billing Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor assignment queues
• Ensure timely assignment of claims to payors
• Keep claims current and address any backlogs promptly
• Manage workflows and teams
• Ensure employees meet production metrics
• Provide strategic support to underperformers
• Utilize technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Ensure new employees receive comprehensive training and monitor their progress
• Maintain Compliance while staying updated on payor regulations and
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA laws and regulations
• Review and correct employee timecards and process PTO requests
• Manage disciplinary matters and clarify misunderstandings, while also providing commendations and recognition when appropriate.
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Cultivate a learning environment that prepares employees for advancement into other roles within the company.
• Prepare and conduct employee performance reviews
• Conduct quality assurance reviews with employees
• Perform standard pre-billing tasks as needed
• Other job-related duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience in an EMS billing environment, including pre-billing, is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in a management role is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Effective communication with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, clients, patients, and external parties.
• Proficiency in multitasking and problem-solving, with a keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, payor specifications, and coding.
• Proven skills in motivating employees to achieve and surpass their goals.
• Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel, including building, sorting, and manipulating spreadsheets.
• Competency in navigating reporting software to extract and analyze data through ad-hoc requests.
• Track record of self-driven, goal-focused behavior.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires long periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days on-site in Terrell, TX, and two days remote.
