About the Opportunity
Summary
Are you looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in your field of study? The Link: Youth and Family Supports is offering practicum opportunities for students through various programs relating to youth care, social work, clinical supports, human resources, administration, accounting and payroll. As a practicum student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our team of experienced professionals and gain valuable skills and experience. You will assist with various tasks and projects and have the chance to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.
Duties and responsibilities:
As a practicum student, your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the program you will be placed within, however, it will also include, but is not limited to:
A shown commitment to learning new things and receiving constructive feedback
Gaining insight into how your theoretical knowledge will be applied practically
Engaging collaboratively with participants, co-workers and supervisors
Sharing ideas and thoughts with your on-site supervisor to provide more efficient service delivery of our programs
Complete the post-practicum evaluation
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Participant must be a student in a recognized and accredited educational institution
Conditions for acceptance
Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain;
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months;
Position status: Full-time or part-time – dependent on required practicum program hours. We will only be accepting practicums from September to April yearly.
Posting End Date: Open until required number of students per department have been received
Work Location: Varies based on the program, potential locations include within Winnipeg, St. Pierre Jolys and Thompson, MB.
