Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, the Electrical Planner will be responsible for planning the work of the electrical department above and below ground, as well as other management tasks. They will also be required to optimize preventive maintenance programs based on equipment availability. Based in telework with occasional visits to the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region. Transportation, accommodation, and meals provided during site visits.
Duties and responsibilities
•Comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules at all times and ensure that staff comply with these rules;
•Assist electrical supervisors in planning and scheduling the workforce;
•Plan the configuration of new equipment in the CMMS and its integration into the preventive maintenance plan;
•Plan maintenance and repair activities based on site needs and priorities;
•Follow up on repairs to electrical equipment and certain fixed equipment;
•Ensure maximum equipment availability while respecting the budgets set by management;
•Optimize preventive maintenance programs based on equipment availability and validate the effectiveness of modifications and maintenance performed;
•Participate in daily shift start meetings;
•Work closely with various contractors and equipment suppliers to plan work on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;
•Participate in maintenance cost improvement and maintenance projects;
•Manage purchase tracking and ensure the supply of parts required for equipment repair and maintenance within the prescribed time frames;
•Communicate and follow up with equipment and service suppliers as needed;
•Ensure communication between departments and equipment suppliers;
•Train the team in the use of the software necessary for effective planning;
•Perform any other tasks related to the position of electrical planner that are relevant to the success of the project.
Qualifications
•Hold a college diploma (DEC) in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a vocational diploma (DEP) in electricity or electromechanics, or have relevant experience in electrical engineering (5-10 years of experience);
•Have five (5) years of experience as a planner;
•Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license;
•Hold a general explosives license.
Technical skills
•Knowledge of continuous improvement and project management principles;
•Mastery of maintenance processes;
•Mastery of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
•Good ability to communicate in English (oral and written). Will be required to deal with suppliers and English speakers;
•Proficiency in Office Suite software (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
•Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA software (an asset).
