The AVALA Physician Network is actively searching for a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join its award-winning roster of physicians. The right candidate will work with a growing community of providers and physicians to offer the highest standards of medical care to the Greater New Orleans area and surrounding communities. Board Certified and Board Eligible physicians are invited to explore the exciting medical landscapes AVALA has to offer and be a part of building a practice to further develop relationships within our community and with our patients. We are looking for a talented and eager physician to assist our patients in navigating through their treatment plans and guide them to trust healthcare again.

In addition to the hospital, AVALA provides diagnostic imaging services, physical and hand therapy, physician clinics, and urgent orthopedic care. Primary Care Physician Responsibilities: 

•  Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations,  assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.

•  Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.

•  Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.

•  Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.

•  Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
