About BROC:
At the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic our goal is to provide a seamless continuum of health care services to maximize patients’ outcomes and convenience. We offer an organized and coordinated continuum to provide better and timelier feedback between the patient, physician, and ancillary services provider. Our main campus is located on Bluebonnet, but we have various clinics and therapies across the state of Louisiana as well as the BROC foundation that supports local schools and athletic programs by providing services throughout various communities.
Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant will help Physical Therapists provide physical therapy treatments and procedures. The Physical Therapist Assistant may, in accordance with state laws, assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist. Duties:
I. Work in a team with Physical Therapist.
A. Assist with supervision of support staff for proper patient setup and flow sheets.
B. Complete daily notes in collaboration with Physical Therapist.
C. Provide hands-on therapy in collaboration with Physical Therapist and per their education and training.
D. Coordinate with Physical Therapist completion for reassessment every 6 visits or no more than 30 days for each patient.
E. Coordinate floor coverage with Physical Therapist, during their initial evaluations.
F. Initiate treatment and review home programs with patients in collaboration with the Physical Therapist.
II. Complete all documentation in a timely fashion and forward to Physical Therapist for co signature at the end of the day.
III. Along with techs print out flow sheets for next day, and document any changes and edit throughout the day to be changed as each patient is seen for accurate documentation.
IV. Communicate any questions or concerns to Physical Therapist.
V. Maintain a clean clinic and positive treatment environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid PTA License
- Ability to understand and closely adhere to patient scheduling policies, guidelines, and protocols.
- Reliable form of transportation to work daily
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to learn computerized medical office work
