Physical Therapist Assistant

Primary responsibilities include helping patients maintain, recover, or improve their physical abilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administers active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, mobilizations, gait training modalities, and soft tissue mobilization.

Measures patient's range-of-joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments.

Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.

Observe patients during treatments, compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress, and reports information to the Physical Therapist.

Adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

A.A. Degree from an accredited college or technical school in Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Current licensure with the State of Minnesota
