Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Label, document, and transport specimens following VA protocols
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures
- Provide respectful and clear communication with patients and staff
- Accurately log procedures into electronic medical systems
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a formal Phlebotomy training program
- Certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, NCPT) strongly preferred
- At least 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or clinic
- Familiarity with VA systems or federal healthcare is a plus
- Must pass a federal background check and credentialing
