We are seeking a casual pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Pharmacy. 

Is responsible for the performance of all clerical and professional duties under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist.  All duties will be performed in accordance with applicable federal, state and facility requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Certified Pharmacy Technician, currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.

Two to five years of experience in a pharmacy is preferred.

      

Essential Functions:

·         Responsible for entering patient information into the computer for all newly admitted patients/residents.

·         Responsible for helping with the order entry of medication orders.

·         Responsible for filling and refilling medication orders, if prescription verification is needed, the pharmacist is consulted.

·         Participates in all billing activities as necessary.

·         Helps with medication restocking, as necessary.

·         Helps with inventory management through critical evaluation when ordering medication from the wholesaler.

·         Helps complete the yearly inventory for the Pharmacy department.

·         Actively participate in hospital mandatory education programs/in-services.

·         Participate in all meetings/committees pertinent to pharmacy services, as well as, those required by administration.

·         Promote and maintain positive relations with area hospitals and the local community.

·         Works with patient charts and health information records as needed, abiding by all confidentiality requirements.

·         Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the department for patients, medical staff, visitors and employees.

·         Utilize computers, email and software including, but not limited to, Word, Excel and Power Point.

·         Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with facility wide and departmental policies and procedures.

·         Actively participate in Cook Hospital and C&NC Unit Compliance Program and demonstrates compliance with required laws and regulations and ensures departmental compliance with regulatory requirements.

·         Meets attendance policy requirements.

·         Maintain a good working relationship with all coworkers and the general public and to use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority of position.

·         Must utilize effective problem solving skills as appropriate.

·         Must be flexible in response to unexpected changes in workload, emergencies and or scheduling changes.

·         Exhibits personal hygiene and appearance, including attire which reflects professional management stature in adherence to the hospital and departmental dress code.

·         Must possess the ability to work independently and as a team player.
