PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY: Responsibilities include day-to-day operations and assisting the Pharmacist according to Alabama Regional Medical Services policy and Alabama State laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the licensed Pharmacist to provide medication to patients
2. Assist in the counting of tablets or labeling bottles
3. Organize inventory and alert Pharmacist of any shortages
4. Maintain proper storage and security of drugs
5. Accept payments for prescriptions and process insurance
6. Enter customer or patient information into computer system and maintain patient profiles
7. Refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to Pharmacist
8. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash register
9. Assist with medical interpretation and/or translation if permitted by supervising Pharmacist or COO
10. Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
1 to 3 years of experience working in a Pharmacy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing
Maintain (3) continuing education credits per year with (1) credit requiring being in attendance to obtain the credit
