Job Overview:
The Cashier performs various customer service and clerical tasks in support of our mission in assisting patients and customers. This position is a great role for someone who wants to become a pharmacy technician, and is expected to work full time hours and Saturdays up to twice a month.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Interact with walk-in customers and perform activities such as accepting hard-copy prescriptions and ringing up purchases.
- Answer, triage and handle or redirect incoming phone calls as much as possible.
- Assist customers with over-the-counter medications and other items offered for sale in the front of the pharmacy.
- Assist with the shipping department when needed.
- Other Duties As Assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician a plus, not required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to learn applicable pharmacy software(s).
- Ability to work a cash register.
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
