Job Overview:

The Cashier performs various customer service and clerical tasks in support of other employees and pharmacy operations. This position is a great role for someone who wants to become a pharmacy technician.  This position is expected to work full time or part time hours and Saturdays will be needed from time to time. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Interact with walk-in customers and perform activities such as accepting hard-copy prescriptions and ringing up purchases.
• Answer, triage and handle or redirect incoming phone calls as much as possible.
• Assist customers with over-the-counter medications and other items offered for sale in the front of the pharmacy.
• Other Duties As Assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent:
• Certified Pharmacy Technician a plus
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team
• Ability to take direction.
• Knowledge of applicable pharmacy software(s).
• Ability to work a cash register.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
