Position Summary:
JMK Rx & Wellness is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Accounting Assistant to support the financial and administrative operations of the pharmacy. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with billing and reconciliation processes, and supporting day-to-day accounting functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Reconcile daily and monthly financial records, including prescription billing reports
- Support pharmacy billing activities, including insurance and third-party payers
- Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and filing systems
- Assist with payroll data entry and verification, as needed
- Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities in financial records
- Support internal audits and compliance-related documentation
- Communicate with vendors, staff, and insurance representatives regarding billing or payment issues
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical work preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to handle confidential financial and patient-related information
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is a plus, but not required
Work Environment:
This position operates in a pharmacy setting and may involve extended periods of sitting, computer use, and interaction with staff and vendors.
