Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the position is responsible to assist in human resources functions to meet departmental objectives, including but not limited to employee relations, regulatory compliance, policy implementation, training and development, and maintaining records and information.
Job Description/Duties:
• Support the P&C team in ensuring efficient employee recruitment and on-boarding processes
• Facilitate comprehension of, and adherence to all employee policies and procedures by responding to general P&C queries, directing or escalating unique or complex queries to more senior P&C staff, where appropriate
• Gather, follow up on, and maintain all required employee documentation in a timely manner, ensuring complete and current records at all times
• Assist the P&C team in delivering timely and impactful training and development or engagement initiatives
• Generate timely and accurate administrative reports and statistics for management, capturing key indicators of the health, impact and sustainability of the organization’s workforce
• Assists with performance management procedures
• Participate in special projects and organization-wide quality improvement initiatives
• Support the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment and advance a culture of safety through work and daily practices
• Other duties as required.
Skills / Qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma or degree with 2-3 years of experience as an HR Coordinator or a related area
• Strong aptitude in database usage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate Excel proficiency and HRIS systems; experience with Payworks an asset
• Experience in the non-profit sector an asset
• Excellent communication, time management and administration skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
