Objective: 3Keys believe that hope begins with housing. As such, we aim to provide comprehensive supportive services to our residents, including opportunities in the evening to engage with staff and peers in activities that are engaging, entertaining, and help foster a strong sense of community. The Peer Support and Recreation Activities Coordinator will ensure that there is a client centered, and client informed program established that includes a calendar of activities and events accessible to all individuals at three of our project-based properties.

 

Reports to:  Director of Supportive Services

Status:  Part Time/ Non-exempt

Responsibilities:

 

1.      Manage the Evening Activities Program at Phoenix House, Presley Woods and Rosalynn Apartments, rotating days throughout the week to serve one evening at Presley Woods and two evenings at Phoenix House and Rosalynn Apartments.

2.      Provide opportunities for residents to input what types of activities are offered.  Examples of activities include but are not limited to chess tournaments, movie nights, card games, arts and crafts, talent shows, knitting groups, book clubs, etc.

3.      Nurture a supportive and positive environment where residents feel welcomed

4.      Create Monthly calendars at each property outlining the activities being offered

5.      Always provide supervision and guidance at all activities

6.      Maintain daily sign in sheets in a binder

7.      Input data into HMIS/ Client Track system to include serves and case notes

8.      Provide conflict resolution as needed

 

9.      Provide crisis intervention as needed

10.  Work collaboratively with the supportive services team

11.     Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.

·        Experience working with individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness and who are living with a mental health diagnosis and/ or dual diagnosis of substance use disorder

·        Familiarity with best practices, including but not limited to harm reduction, trauma informed care and motivational interviewing concepts and strategies

·       Outstanding capacity to build strong relationships with a diverse range of clients, colleagues, and community members

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills
