Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial data, and supporting month-end and year-end activities. Your contributions will help maintain the integrity of our financial operations and support our company's growth.

About Payentry
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including resolving aging issues by effectively communicating with customers.
- Prepare and communicate monthly invoices for all customer revenue streams.
- Provide daily cash updates to leadership, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure financial data accuracy.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date corporate and vendor files, including contracts and related documentation.
- Assist with accounts payable tasks such as reconciling credit card transactions and processing vendor bills.
- Manage vendor relationships by addressing discrepancies, obtaining W-9s, and securing insurance certificates.
- Ensure the accuracy of revenue data by posting and verifying lockbox and local deposit transactions.
- Support the month-end close process by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate year-end audits and various accounting projects.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and process improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with QuickBooks is preferred but not required.
- Strong intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
