Patient Services Representative

The Patient Services Representative is responsible for greeting patients with a smile, answering the phone, entering information into the database, and general clerical and hospitality duties. In this position, it is imperative you are able to consistently maintain a pleasant, professional demeanor and make patients always feel welcome. Ability to multi-task is a must.

 Qualifications required:

1. 2-4 years relevant experience (ER specific) with financial background preferred.

2. Knowledge and skills regarding health insurance.

3. Knowledge and skills regarding all general office equipment including computers, Microsoft Office, telephones, copier, and fax.

4. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and to prioritize multiple demands effectively.

5. Exceptional communication skills and customer service is required.

Essential Job functions and responsibilities:

1. Prepares all internal and external reports as required by Federal/State/Local agencies in a timely manner.

2. Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws, regulations and ordinances. Participates in onsite inspections by State and Federal Surveyors. Completes all required ESRD Network, Crown-Web, NHSN, OSHA and Workers Compensations reports.

3. Ensures that the facility's physical plant, including all equipment housed therein (whether owned or leased) is adequately maintained as required by Federal law. Maintain standard service agreements and contracts, e.g. waste disposal, cleaning, as appropriate.

4. Implement emergency procedures as necessary.

5. Maintains a general knowledge of all central and chairside equipment and ensure that routine preventative maintenance procedures are followed.

6. Participates in all personnel activities, including, but not limited to compliance with policies and procedures.

7. Ensures quality patient care through implementation of policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, patient care plans, medical records, quality assurance, facility audits and monthly infection control audits. Participate in ongoing training. Coordinated all medical, dietary and social services.

8. Follow all company policies.

9. Encourage a work environment which is friendly and respectful.

10. Provide patients and their family with a customer focused, friendly, reassuring, and open environment which encourages patients to come back to The Colony ER Hospital.

11. Member of the CODE Team and be an active participant in Code Blue Training.

12. All other duties as assigned.
