Patient Care Technician/CNA LNA - Full Time ED/Emergency Room (Day Shift) - Critical Access Hospital

Summary: Assists professional nursing personnel by performing tasks involving directir and indirect patient care, treatment and maintenance of nursing unit. This full time position allows the incumbent to serve the facility in multiple ways.  Not only will they function as a traditional PCT/CNA, you will also be trained to work as a monitor tech and as a scope reprocessing tech.  If you have interest in a position that offers variety, this may be for you. 

Must hold current unrestricted, C.N.A.  or L.N.A. license issued by Arizona State Board of Nursing and American Heart Association CPR or BLS.

Special Conditions: Must be able to work weekend, holidays and Day or Night Shifts

This person must have up beat aptitude, work alongside other team members, problem solve and deliver the highest quality customer service. Requires the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others including physicians, nurses, administrators, managers, vendors, and other health care industry personnel.

Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer or designated administrator.Non-Exempt / Hourly - Entry Level PCT / CNA


PCT / CNA:

Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing to patients within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s / Patient Care Tech's scope of practice, and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or nursing unit

Monitor Tech:

This position is responsible for continuous observation of patients’ monitors, leads and/or activity and behaviors, and for reporting pertinent changes and abnormalities to the appropriate clinical staff. This position is also responsible for maintaining logs of activity and changes or behaviors in accordance with facility standards.

 GI Lab Scopes Reprocessing Tech:

Responsible for the cleaning, high-level disinfection and maintenance of GI scopes and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and established infection control policies and procedures. Coordinates cleaning and procedure room set-up between patients. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff rendering professional care to patients undergoing endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Exhibits teamwork characteristics and good communication.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Current unrestricted, C.N.A. license issued by Airzona State Board of Nursing, required.

Current American Heart Association CPR or BLS..

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic nursing assistant practices, principles of body mechanics, privacy acts, and methods of maintaining a safe, working environment.

Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements.

Obtains or maintains knowledge to read telemetry: Attends the earliest Basic Cardiac Rhythm course given by Northern Cochise Community Hospital and successfully complete(s)/passes the course with a minimum score of 75%.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as needed.

Strong customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Positive communication skills; ability to successfully interact with all customers; continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative and service orientated behavior.

Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and positive patient experience.
