At Harvest Moon, we work with best-in-class teammates from a variety of backgrounds who share a passion for hospitality, quality of food, and delighting customers. If you have never felt professionally challenged before, think long and hard before applying for this position.  You’ll do administrative tasks like hiring, managing and training the baking & pastry (B&P) staff and quickly pivot to producing baked goods for a full weekend of events.  This role also involves high-level, strategic planning, as you’ll be tracking inventory and managing food & labor costs for your department. 

The Minimum You'll Do:

-                    Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between departments and co-workers.

-                      Adhere to our business plan and service levels for food, supply, utility, and labor costs.

-                      Continue the evolution of standard practices and functionality to improve efficiency.

-                      Hire staff and train technical skills, food safety practices, and sustainability practices.

-                      Direct B&P production and R&D for 1200+ events, over 120 weddings, and a cafe.

-                      Order and track inventory; run and interpret food and labor cost monthly reports.

-                      Ensure your staff are knowledgeable of and comply with health and safety standards.

-                      Motivate your team to deliver exceptional experiences with unwavering dedication to service and esprit de corps.

 Your Experience, Education, and Training:

-                   You’ve got 5+ years of experience as a pastry chef and 3+ years in a supervisory role.

-                      You have a degree in Culinary/B&P Science or a related certificate.

-                      You’re up-to-date with culinary trends and are ServSafe manager qualified.

-                      You’re proficient in a variety of software programs (Google Suite, Microsoft Office).
