Position:  Partnership Management Specialist

Location:  Remote with some travel

Status:  Full Time

Salary:  $80,000 - $100,000 annually

TNDC is looking for a Partnership Management Specialist to help manage and grow strategic relationships that benefit the Tahltan Nation. Reporting to the VP of Partnerships, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of partnerships, collaborate with Tahltan-owned businesses, and explore new opportunities—all while ensuring alignment with TNDC’s vision. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Partnership Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of existing partnerships (currently 37), ensuring that they deliver optimal value to the Tahltan Nation and align with TNDC's strategic goals.  
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with partners, track key metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement.  
  • Maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, fostering open communication and collaboration.  
  • Support the negotiation and execution of partnership agreements, under the direction of VP, Partnerships.  
  • Monitor compliance with partnership agreements, including Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs), and address any discrepancies.  
  • Update partnership agreements when necessary, under the direction of the VP, Partnerships.  
  • Oversee financial reconciliation, invoicing, and payment processing for partnerships.  
  • Schedule and coordinate quarterly performance review meetings with partners.  
  • Record meeting minutes, review with TNDC and partners, and distribute to relevant stakeholders.  
  • Complete action items from meeting minutes within the agreed-upon timelines.  
  • Advocate for Tahltan jobs, training, promotions, and advancement within partner organizations.  
  • Serve as a point of contact along with the VP, Partnerships for partnership inquiries and address a high volume of diverse issues.  
  • Write support letters for partners engaging in bid processes or other opportunities.  

Tahltan Business Engagement:

  • Identify and assess Tahltan-owned small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) for potential inclusion in TNDC's supply chain.  
  • Support the development and implementation of a formal policy for engaging Tahltan SMBs.  
  • Foster relationships with Tahltan SMBs, providing mentorship and support to enhance their business capabilities.  

New Partnership Development:

  • Contribute to the research and analysis of emerging market opportunities that align with TNDC’s strategic goals. Support the identification and evaluation of potential new partners, using established criteria and due diligence processes.  
  • Assist in the development of partnership proposals and presentations, showcasing TNDC's value proposition and commitment to Tahltan prosperity.  

Reporting and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of partnership activities, including meeting minutes, performance reports, and financial data.  
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Provide administrative support to the VP, Partnerships as needed.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, or a related field.  
  • 3+ years of experience in partnership management, business development, or a related role.  
  • Strong understanding of the mining and forestry sectors in Tahltan Territory.  
  • Knowledge of Indigenous land rights and title, Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs), and related legal frameworks is an asset.  
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Commitment to the values and principles of the Tahltan Nation.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS (PREFFERED):

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.  
  • Knowledge of Tahltan culture and values.  
  • Experience managing projects and stakeholder relationships 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Willingness to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or extended hours to meet deliverables during busy periods.
  • Occasional travel required (e.g., AGA or other business-related events).
  • Ability to manage stress and perform effectively under pressure.
