KOMAN Government Solutions, LLC (KGS) is a fast-paced environmental consulting, remediation, and construction company providing both public and private-sector clients with a broad range of environmental and construction-related services.

Our team keeps growing! We have an immediate need for a part-time Treatment Plant Operator at a project site in Ewing Township, West Trenton, NJ.  This position is for 20 hours/week but will also be responsible for responding to system alarms as needed.  The Treatment Plant Operator is responsible operation and maintenance (O&M), monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of various treatment plants.  These may include groundwater treatment plants, wastewater pretreatment/treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants, soil vapor extraction/air sparge (SVE/AS) systems, or other treatment plants.  The Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for general plant and property maintenance and implementation of onsite safety and quality control requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Treatment Plant O&M in accordance with prescribed requirements including discharge permit requirements
  • Measure and record operating parameters
  • Collect process samples
  • Perform routine maintenance items such as filter changeouts, carbon backwashing, carbon or other media changeouts, pump and motor servicing, and/or any other routine maintenance required
  • Respond to call-outs as required
  • Perform routine site maintenance including limited mowing and snow removal
  • Perform troubleshooting activities.  Assist with repairs and treatment plant upgrades or modifications
  • Prepare daily reports and submit to the Project Manager
  • Ensuring safety protocol are followed
  • Quality including performing Quality Control reviews
  • Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee onsite activities to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Select tools, materials and equipment, and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Prepare internal reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
  • Assist in generating Request for information and Change order documents
  • Work to obtain favorable feedback/CPARS ratings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with more than three years of related experience and/or training.
  • State Specific Industrial Wastewater N-2 license (or higher)
  • Eligibility to obtain access to a federal government facility, required
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, Scheduling software, and Abode.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Minimum- OSHA 40 hr HazWOPER and applicable 8 hr HazWOPER Refresher Training.   OSHA 30 hr Construction Safety, USACE CQCM Training desired.
  • Other skills required:
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.  Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints, strong verbal and written communication skills
