We are looking for a part-time Facility Attendant to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains ice surface which includes grooming, edging, flooding, and weekly depth measurements.

Provides excellent customer service to all users of the facility. 

Performs routine maintenance of ice surfacing machine, including oil check, fluid level check, tire pressure, blade depth, blade changes, washing and fuel tank changes.

Fills out all safety log books and completes all required paper work daily.

Assists in arena housekeeping, including cleaning and mopping of dressing rooms, players' benches, hallways, lobby and emptying of garbage containers.

Completes set ups for all sport related activities, whether indoors or outdoors for both the school and external groups which includes bleachers, goal posts, batting cages, tennis courts, field layout and marking, basketball nets, soccer nets and other related equipment.

Assists with the set up of special events whether for the school or for external groups.

Shovels snow from entrances located around the sports complex and snow dumping area as required.

Opens and closes building at beginning/end of shift.

 EFFORT & CONDITIONS

Normal range of movements and considerable walking;

Concentration of safe operation of machinery is required, while monitoring other activities in and outside of school buildings;

Temperature differential from ice surface to office, dressing rooms to exterior fields;

Heavy lifting and movement of heavy equipment may be required at times;

Ice surface is hazardous to work on;

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid "G2" or higher driver's license;

Ability to safely operate and maintain ice resurfacing machine, paint tractor/sprayer and golf cart;

Ability to operate front-end loader; push mowers, power trimmers, leaf blowers and ice edger;

 Ability to use hand tools;

Great communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to use a computer with knowledge of word, and excel programs

Ability to compose professional e-mails;

Vulnerable sector police clearance must be obtained prior to start date.
