Park Attendant
The Campground Attendant position is located at Bow Valley Provincial Park near Canmore, AB. The attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the campground, assisting guests, and ensuring that campground rules are followed. This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning campsites and facilities, selling firewood, performing security walks, and providing customer service. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, friendly, and committed to providing a positive experience for all campground visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Campsite Cleaning and Maintenance:
Clean and maintain campsites after guests check out, including but not limited to picking up litter, raking, and ensuring fire pits are clean.
Inspect campsites for any damage or issues and report them to supervisor.
Facility Cleaning and Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize vault/pit toilets and comfort stations multiple times daily to maintain high standards of hygiene. Restocking supplies as needed.
Clean day-use facilities, picnic areas, shelters and amphitheatres
Empty garbage and recycling bins throughout the campground and day-use areas.
Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs, groundskeeping, and other duties assigned by the Campground Manager.
Ability to use a push lawn mower, lawn tractor, weed wacker, blower, safely operate vehicle and basic maintenance of small equipment
Customer service:
Provide friendly and helpful service to guests, answering questions about the campground and local area attractions.
Assist guests with campground rules and regulations, educate on wildlife attractants, sell firewood and ensure an overall positive guest experience.
Security and Rule Enforcement:
Perform regular security walks throughout the campground to ensure that rules are being followed.
Address any issues related to noise, campfires and other campground regulations.
Report any serious violations or safety concerns to management or appropriate authorities.
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred or currently enrolled).
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Current First Aid Level 1
Criminal Record Check (required prior to hiring, cost will be reimbursed, employment contingent on clear record)
Core Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to operate small equipment, while adhering to company’s safety policies and procedures
Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the campground’s operational needs. A routine schedule will be provided for successful applicants.
