Parcel Packer

Summary:

This position is responsible for packing smaller customer orders in a timely and efficient manner in the warehouse. The job starts at $14 per hour PLUS an earned monthly packing bonus that can be a significant addition to the overall pay.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Examines shipment contents, comparing item codes to pick sheets for verification of correct items and quantities.

Checks all items to ensure new conditions and cleanliness of product.

Utilizes RF scanners to make sure all orders/inventory is accurately tracked, applying invoice number to sales orders.

Packs, seals, labels all items to prepare for shipment using hand & power tools, and packing materials.

Confirms items are packed to established standards & policies.

Applies shipping labels as required to finished package.

            Stacks boxes on belts and/or loads shipping trucks with sealed boxes.

            Cleans packing station daily.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma, or GED equivalent needed. Any further education/experience in the warehousing area preferred.

Must maintain a positive attitude, with a customer service focus in a fast-paced work environment.

Use of forklift trucks & order pickers experience a plus, but not required.

Should possess ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Should be detail-oriented, focused, driven, and a self-starter.

Must have willingness to learn products sold, customer service, policies, procedures, and about the trucking industry as a whole in order to meet customer needs.

Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Must be able to work quickly and safely.

Passing a drug screen will be required of this position. 

Shift:

Mon-Fri, Day Shift, 8am-5pm

Working Conditions:

Job will include periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces will also be present. Subject to heat/cold conditions in warehouse conditions. Heavy use of hands and arms will be needed.  May be required to lift to 40 lbs. by self, or team lift to 75 lbs. Use of mechanical lifts required for heavier orders.
