Paraprofessional / Residential Group Home
We are seeking a talented individual who Shares our focus and dedication for those we serve and support. This is a role that is key for service delivery within our Group Home area and designed to truly make a difference in the lives of children that are served, improving the quality of life and connection to community.
Responsibilities:
- Some travel is required to meet client needs such as appointments, school meetings, etc.
- Assist in implementing behavior management strategies to create a positive and inclusive therapeutic environment.
- Provide care and support for adolescent males, ensuring their safety and well-being in a residential setting.
- Modeling, positive reinforcement, redirection, de-escalation, guidance, etc. through staff/individual/peer interactions.
- Directed/supervised psychoeducational activities including the development and maintenance of daily living, anger management, social, family living, communication, and stress management skills, etc.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Clean criminal background
- Willingness to be flexible with schedule changes
- A valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation
- Previous experience working with children with mental health challenges, preferably in a group home setting(1 year)
- Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A passion for working with adolescents and promoting post-traumatic growth
- Familiarity with trauma-focused principles and practices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
