Panel Shop Specialist

Company Title:  Panel Shop Specialist

Reports to:  Industrial Control Specialist

Perform all functions to build, wire and test various control panels that are sold by ErieTec, Inc. Outside Salesmen and designed by the Industrial Control Specialists.  This position requires the ability to read, analyze and interpret electrical schematics in order to build and troubleshoot electrical control panels effectively and efficiently in order to grow the company’s sales and profits.  Working knowledge of NEC standards affecting electrically operated automation/controls equipment will be applied.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure safe, neat and orderly electrical panel construction,

including mounting and wiring of parts.  Utilize proper use 

of hand tools and accurately label terminated and bundled wires.

2. Interpret electrical schematic and perform layout of electrical

control panel.

3.   Inspect and test electrical control panels to ensure

compliance of schematics.

4.   Unpack, store and maintain parts for electrical control panels.

5. Maintain clean working area.

6.   Perform other department/company functions as

      requested or required in related or non-related areas.

REQUIREMENTS

Read, understand and follow written instructions.  High attention to detail. 

Understand and be able to use computer for information storage and retrieval. Must be able to use shop math.

Great physical effort needed frequently for lifting, bending, reaching, crouching, pushing/pulling, stooping while building panels.  Will also sit and stand.  Lifting will average 20 lbs.  Considerable nervous effort. Occasional eye strain from working with computer screen and small parts. Work environment may be drafty with fluctuation from cold/hot.  May

experience irritating noise/fumes.
