Panel Shop Quality Leader

Below are the requirements and expectations for a Panel Shop Quality Leader. This person will report directly to the Production Manager (PM), and act as a backup for the PM when they are not available, and assist with daily requirements of the PM. This person should have at least 3 years of panel building experience.

This person must meet all criteria for PSS0, PSS1, PSS2, PSS3 & PSTL before being considered for the Panel Shop Quality Leader (PSQL) position.

Responsibilities and expectations of a PSQL include:

?     Verify the final drawings are accurate to what has actually been installed

?     Read electrical schematics and understand what is trying to be accomplished by the control wiring to adequately troubleshoot control schemes, and interpret drawings to ensure that components are wired correctly for proper quality of control panel

?     Aid in addressing daily, weekly, and long-term needs in the shop, and provide suggestions to make improvements

?     Make sure that the pre & post-build checklists are being followed/have been followed throughout the process.  This would include random checks/audits throughout the process and that they are documented.  This would help to make the final checks much more streamlined and more efficient.

?     Perform all visual checks, static checks, pull tests and voltage tests for a given panel to ensure upmost quality.  If errors found then PSQL will ask PSS to fix mistakes.

?     Perform 2^nd round (or more) of testing, if needed, after PSS fixes their mistakes to ensure upmost quality.

?  Must be able to make the best decisions about whether a panel should or should not ship depending on quality issues or concerns found during testing of the panel by QL or PSTL

?     Demonstrate good leadership capabilities such as: having a good attitude.

 ?    Help and teach PSS’s the proper way to wire a control panel.  Including any on-going training that the PSS’s might need, either as a group or on an individual basis.

·         Including the on-boarding training Brian Davis has put together

?     After all testing and all shipping paperwork has been completed QL would assist shipping department per what we’re doing currently.

As needed:

?     Wire control panels according to customer specification and schematics with no supervision as required from PM

?     Wiring practices should be of the highest quality and accuracy such as: Components mounted neatly and square, wiring is correct color, size, ran in a neat organized manner, assemble and installed components according to vendor and customer specifications

·         PSQL should have between 0-6 mistakes per quarter.
