Schedules: Monday through Thursday 5 AM to 3:30 PM or Tuesday through Friday 5 AM to 3:30 PM



General Summary of Position

The Panel Loader is expected to load finished prefabricated wall panels safely and efficiently onto flatbed trucks for delivery to site. Position requires safe operation of various heavy equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, yard trucks in the prefabrication shop. The employee is required to use all Personal Protective Equipment provided.



Essential Duties (Core Competencies):

  • Operates overhead cranes for loading finished wall panels onto flatbed trailers
  • Properly secures panels with crane connections (hooks)
  • Manipulation of panel position utilizing crane and forklifts for proper loading
  • Operates basic hand tools including an impact driver, circular hand saw, ratchet straps, and table saw for fabricating and placing layers of dunnage/insulation between the panels for safe and damage-free transport to job sites
  • Operates yard truck to safely move empty and full flatbed trailers in to and out of the building and around the trailer yard
  • Special projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge and experience working with commercial carpentry tools and building materials
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE
  • Experience with operation of multi-hoist crane
  • Experience with operating forklifts
  • Experience with operating hand and powered tools such as impact driver, hand and table saw, ratchet straps
  • Able and comfortable operating yard truck, moving and parking flatbed trailers in confined spaces

Work Environment

The work environment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment. There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85 degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use of tools and equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfaces exist.
