The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking an Overnight Security Guard to work with our team.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:

 

We’re looking for highly competent security guard to join our team to monitor the premises and protect our valued staff, visitors, tenants, and inventory. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a security officer or guard, as well as training in self-defense and first aid. He or she will have a sharp eye with quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior, and prevention of theft or vandalism.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control 
  • Be always visible and observant, greeting staff, guests, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner
  • Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately
  • Uphold the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance
  • Collaborate with other security personnel for effective protection and coverage
  • Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures.
  • Remain current in all updates with regards to new procedures and training.

  • Report any suspicious persons, activities and/or hazardous conditions to the Transportation/Security Manager and/or the Front Office Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the phone, with Staff, Senior Management team members, and Ownership. 
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to all Averill Hospitality policies and ensure departmental personnel compliance.
  • Ability and willingness to work with various office equipment and software systems.
  • A valid driver’s license is necessary to aid in shuttles if needed.
  • Must maintain a positive influence in the community and positive relations with area vendors.
  • Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views, welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team environment, and prioritizes the team’s success over one's own interests.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS


EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent


EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES? 

  • 2 years’ experience in security or related field a plus
