Job Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring environmental control on the perimeter of Covenant House, and assisting individuals visiting on business, youth or service-related matters. Incumbent will be required to prevent loitering in prohibited areas; assist Youth Workers if called upon; respond to any neighbourhood resident who complains about our presence; de-escalate contentious situations; identify when back up staff support is required; maintain a daily security log; complete incident reports.
This position involves working outdoors most of the time
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday Shift is from 4:30pm to 10:30pm and Saturday Shift is from 11am to 10pm
Qualifications
- Applicants preferably will possess Grade 12 or equivalent education with interest/background in crowd control or security
- Excellent people and communication skills
- An ability to work with various multi-ethnic youth and to remain calm under pressure.
