Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to cover a geographic area for the client and represent the client in a professional manner. If done well, the representative will create a plan and itinerary to prospect sales to new and existing customers within the territory. The representative should build a pipeline of pending business equal to or greater than 4-5 times the expected sales per month. Once done, the rep is responsible for the successful sales and support of a defined sales volume per month.
The essential duties for the success of this position are:
50% Prospecting new and current customers for sales opportunities
This would only involve direct contact via phone or in person with a prospective customer. This would also involve the demonstration of the product, data acquisition from customers and the closing/installation of the product.
30% Preparation and planning
This would involve the building of knowledge and prospect list in order to organize the time prospecting. This would also involve the preparation of proposals and customer information.
5% The support and input of the internal client required documents, reports and procedures
This involves the sales reports, database input, administrative reports, and HR documents.
5% The consistent training of product knowledge and feature application
10% The maintenance and support of client customers
This involves handling and following through on customer requests and issues.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree and previous outside sales experience!
