The Camp
Founded in 1947 Kandalore
offers a traditional camp experience for children 6 – 16. Originally operating
as a boy’s camp, Kandalore became co-educational in 1992. The camp prides
itself on its warm and supportive community where children are made to feel
included in the camp culture. The supportive nature of the camp allows for the
campers to try new activities and develop new skills with the help of caring

Job Outline
Kandalore is currently seeking enthusiastic applicants to join our Outdoor Education Centre team this Winter!
Outdoor education centre (OEC) facilitators are responsible for supervising and instructing groups of 8 – 12 students from grade 5 to 12 through a variety of outdoor activities. The program focuses on small group initiative challenges, cooperation and problem solving, leadership, and teamwork development. These aims are emphasized throughout visiting students’ overnight outdoor education experience and in activities such as cross country skiing, high ropes, snowshoeing, rappelling and other outdoor activities.
The job is ideal for candidates who plan to pursue outdoor education or teaching children on a long-term basis and can use the opportunity to broaden their skills and experience. Responsibilities
· Facilitate groups and lead OEC activities
· Adapt teaching styles to suit the different and unique characteristics of each group
· Support program development
· Contribute to a positive camp environment
· Assist with site maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
· Standard First Aid
· Experience with leading groups, teaching, or outdoor education
