Warehouse Supervisor
Manage day to day operations in the shipping department. Daily operations and responsibilities include:
● Assign side work to Warehouse Associates and Outbound Dock Clerks to ensure Outbound is kept clean and ready for the proceeding work day or future projects. Such sidework can include.
○ Cleaning trash on the ground ○ Maintain a clean office, mobile workstation, and work environment.
○ Heavy Machinery inspection sheets are filled out at the start of each day before operating.
○ Heavy Machinery is put away in its proper location and plugged in.
○ Dock doors 6-28 as well as man doors in the specified area are all closed and locked at the end of the work day.
● Manage orders with the Second Floor Supervisor to help ensure all orders get sent out the door in a timely manner, orders sent down from the second floor must be staged onto the dock to finalize shipping preparations.
● Oversee that the Outbound Dock Clerk manages all tickets assigned to Outbound in Freshdesk are maintained within the company’s SLA.
● Ensure any warehouse associate operating heavy machinery has been properly trained and fill out a daily inspection sheet.
● Any orders unable to be shipped out of Best Way Distribution by its expected ship date need to be brought to the attention of the corresponding C.S.R., the Operations Manager, and/or the Strategic Accounts Manager.
● If any carriers fail to pick up orders staged on the dock, the Operations and Strategic Accounts Manager needs to be notified by the end of the work day of when the order is expected to ship out.
● Ensure Outbound Dock Clerks and Warehouse Associates wear proper work attire and wear a safety vest when walking through the warehouse. Approves timecards and manage time off requests on Payentry for warehouse associates.
The Outbound Supervisor should be trained and well versed in working with Extensiv and the Freshdesk ticketing system and should be able to train the staff in the department on the necessary systems to work on a day-to-day basis.
