Job Summary
  • Multiple Full-Time/Part-Time orthodontic assistants needed for well-established practice Downriver, Wayne County. Dental or orthodontic on the job experience required 1-2 years. Candidate will be required to work in two downriver locations and work according to doctors schedule. Candidate must be a fast learner, strong multi-tasker, detail oriented and looking for a long-term position. Pay rate based on experience. We will train the right individual for orthodontics.

General Accountabilities
  • Focus on the patient experience and putting patients at ease and keeping them informed.
  • Prepares patient, sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists orthodontist during procedures.
  • Performs orthodontic procedures as instructed by the orthodontist.
  • Records treatment information in patient records.
  • Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays and scans.
  • Takes and records patients treatment, dental histories.
  • Monitor allergies or medical alerts.
  • Assists orthodontist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
  • Provides pre or post-treatment instructions prescribed by the orthodontist.
  • Orders and monitors dental supplies and equipment inventory.
  • Digital and standard impressions.
  • Attend all practice meetings
  • Attend and participate in all practice events.
  • Obtain patient reviews on a regular basis.
  • Stock and clean clinic area.
  • Cross training in other practice areas.
  • Promote practice in all your personal social media.
  • Participate in any growth efforts of the practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Education: Certificate or Degree from an accredited dental or nursing-related program
  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience in orthodontics, dental or nursing.
  • Equivalent combination of education and or experience considered
