Children’s Orthopaedic & Scoliosis Surgery Associates is seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech) for our St. Petersburg office. We are a premier pediatric orthopaedic group known for our compassionate, expert care—and we’re looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our outstanding team.


Position Summary:
As an Orthopaedic Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our physicians and clinical staff while delivering exceptional care to our pediatric patients. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting providers, rooming patients, and applying/removing casts and splints.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Apply and remove orthopedic devices including casts, splints, and braces

  • Assist physicians, ARNPs, and PAs with exams and minor procedures

  • Room patients, check schedules, and organize patient flow

  • Provide patient and family education related to orthopedic care and equipment

  • Accompany and assist patients with mobility, transfers, and dressing as needed

  • Chart and document care accurately and thoroughly

  • Answer patient calls and relay pertinent clinical information

Environmental & Operational Duties

  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and orthopedic equipment to meet infection control standards

  • Prepare and stock rooms for procedures and visits

  • Order, sort, and organize medical and orthopedic supplies

  • Follow scheduled maintenance procedures for clinical equipment

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Promote and protect patient rights and confidentiality

  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and safety codes

  • Communicate issues related to patient care or workflow to supervisors in a timely manner

  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work culture

Qualifications:

  • Orthopaedic casting experience or Certified Orthopaedic Technician (OTC) preferred

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology required

  • Must work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented pediatric environment

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Positive, professional demeanor and commitment to outstanding patient service
