Job Description

As a Tank Cleaning Technician, you will support the execution of industrial tank cleaning projects, including the setup, operation, and completion of work scopes using wash units, pumps, and robotic cleaning equipment. You will perform pre-use equipment inspections, follow all operating and safe work procedures, and carry out tasks as directed by the Field Supervisor or Project Manager, including work within confined spaces, while upholding the company’s safety, quality, and core values.

Responsibilities:

• Industrial tank cleaning execution: perform tasks associated with the preparation, set up and completion of Tank Cleaning projects.
• Complete pre-use inspections of equipment to ensure it is operating safely.
• Operation of equipment such as wash units and pumps, robotic tank cleaning equipment and conducting pre-commissioning services.
• Ensure that all required Operating and Safe Work Procedures are followed.
• Following and upholding the safety and quality expectations held by RJ Maclean in Tank Cleaning. Promote organization’s Core Values.
• Ensure tasks as communicated by Field Supervisor/Project Manager are executed inside tanks.

What Skills and Training Do You Need? 

• CSO – Common Safety Orientation -Energy Safety Canada
• CSTS 2020 – Construction Safety Training System Fundamentals (ACSA)
• CSE - Confined Space Entry / Monitor - Energy Safety Canada
• H2S Alive  - Energy Safety Canada
• Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE & APR)(SCBA/SABA) - SUNCOR/SYNCRUDE APPROVED
• Mask Fit and experience or capability working in confined space with breathing apparatus. 
• Pump and Hydraulics experience preferred.
• Industrial tank cleaning experience, turnaround, and pre-commissioning services experience.
• Commercial Driver License preferred.
• Experience in a physically demanding role; Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly on shift and throughout the shift. 
• Excellent safety record with experience in oil and gas on project worksites.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. 
• Ability to execute tasks with limited Supervision. 
• References, Alcohol and Drug Testing, Criminal Record checks
