As Operations Manager you will:

Responsibilities:
· Work with the Director of Programs to develop and execute a strategic master plan for Camp Horizon, including operational goals and capital development.
· Ensure seamless day-to-day operations of a fast-paced, multi-faceted facility, providing evidence-based, high-quality programming. Prioritize efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
· Lead and inspire a team, including department heads, to maintain the highest standards of service and program delivery. Foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace culture.
· In conjunction with the Provincial Care Lead supervise the camp’s medical facilities and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Provide on site management of the camp’s medical staff with remote support from the Provincial Care Lead.
· Respond to medical emergencies and ensure incident reports are completed and stored appropriately.
· Oversee the maintenance accurate records of medical incidents, treatments, and any medications administered.
· Ensure first aid supplies and emergency medical equipment are fully stocked and in working order.
· Collaborate with local healthcare providers for emergencies.
· Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and serving of nutritious, safe, and appealing meals for camp participants and staff.
· Ensure the Kitchen program is operating effectively and meeting the needs of all groups.
· Manage a Food Services Lead, providing leadership, training, and ensuring proper adherence to food safety standards (e.g., cleanliness, temperature control, allergy precautions).
· Manage the camp’s facilities team, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standard.
· Maintain a preventive maintenance program, addressing minor issues before they become larger problems.
· Oversee safety protocols, ensuring facilities meet all regulatory requirements and are free from hazards.
· Ensure all camp facilities, medical, and kitchen operations adhere to relevant local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Conduct regular safety drills, such as fire drills, emergency evacuations, and first aid training.
· Implement risk management strategies to reduce the likelihood of accidents or injuries across all operational areas.
· Provide input on and work with an annual operating budget, ensuring sound financial performance and alignment with organizational goals.
· Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that all departments operate within their allocated budgets.
· Review and approve vendor contracts for supplies and services related to medical, kitchen, and facility maintenance.
· Identify areas for revenue generation and work with the Director of Programs to facilitate implementation.
· Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, maintaining clear communication with camp leadership, medical staff, kitchen staff, and maintenance personnel.
· Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to staff, promoting professional development and high standards of work.
· Handle conflict resolution and ensure all team members are motivated and aligned with camp goals.
· Develop and implement contingency plans for medical, kitchen, and facility-related emergencies (e.g., natural disasters, power outages, foodborne illnesses).
· Ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures and that critical equipment and supplies are readily accessible.
· Perform other tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the camp operations.
· Represent Camp Horizon and Easter Seals Alberta at community events, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, and partners.
· Work closely with the Fund Development team to leverage donor opportunities and secure funding to support camp programs and infrastructure.
· Provide tours of Easter Seals Camp Horizon as needed.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
· Qualifications:
· 3-7 years of experience in operations, facility management, or a leadership role.
· Experience managing budgets, logistics, and team performance.
· Previous experience in non-profit, camp, or healthcare settings (if relevant to the role).
Other:
· This position will require a mix of remote work and in office, or at our camp property.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
· This position is required to be on-call.
· Valid Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is a requirement for this position.
· A Police Information Check and a Vulnerable Sector Search are conditions of employment.
