Operations/Continuous Improvement Manager

The Operations/Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the operational performance of TEK Northeast Production, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure optimal customer satisfaction, while managing the department resources to ensure effective and efficient use of processes and equipment within the company.  This role oversees two locations: TEK Process Flow Technologies in Randolph, MA and TEK Industrial Distribution in Windsor, CT.  This position is also responsible for maintaining all quality standards, ISO compliance procedures, and 5S.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Operations/Continuous Improvement Manager. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. 


  • Coordinate and supervise production in accordance with established policies, principles and procedures.
  • Manage all operations through the department’s supervisors.
  • Facilitate daily morning production meetings.
  • Conduct monthly safety, quality, and production meetings.
  • Develop and execute plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Oversee facility maintenance in development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
  • Oversee the maintenance and compliance of all ISO 13485 policies and Lean/5S.
  • Maintain and enforce all safety, production, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Track, monitor, and manage department costs including working hours of machines and employees.
  • Manage and evaluate all production supervisors.
  • Promote, encourage, and support employee training and development.
  • Promote a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong communication between all departments within the organization.
  • Actively participate in leadership team with the President, General Manager, Business Unit Managers, Inside Sales Manager, and Supply Chain/Inventory Manager.
  • Maintain facility, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all TEK’s safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all TEK’s handbook policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Three or more years of experience in operations management
  • Three or more years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to measure using different tools
  • Ability to read and transfer data accurately
  • Good math and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, suppliers, and management

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Business or related area
  • Five or more years of experience in operations management
  • Five or more years of supervisory/managerial experience
