The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality healthcare services within a correctional setting. As part of an interdisciplinary medical team, the nurse delivers direct patient care to incarcerated individuals in compliance with Ohio Department of Health standards, facility protocols, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and emergency nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, chronic disease management, and health screenings.

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with institutional and legal standards.

Monitor and manage communicable disease protocols and infection control measures.

Respond to medical emergencies and triage urgent health issues appropriately within a secure environment.

Educate patients on health maintenance and wellness, respecting their dignity and rights.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and security policies.
Qualifications:

Valid Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).

CPR certification.

Correctional or behavioral health experience preferred but not required.

Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to function effectively in a structured, secure environment.
Work Environment:
