DEFINITION

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES


- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.

- Answer and direct phone calls in both English and Spanish.

- Assist with translating documents and communications between English and Spanish.

- Greet visitors and clients and provide assistance in both languages as needed.

- Maintain and update office records and databases accurately.

- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.

- Support staff with administrative tasks and projects.

- Assist in preparing reports, memos, and other documents.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Provide support in organizing office events and activities.

- Facilitate communication between English and Spanish-speaking team members and clients.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Basic knowledge of office equipment (e.g., printers, copiers, fax machines).

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

- Basic understanding of office procedures and processes.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

- Strong customer service skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and tasks. 


REQUIRED BACKGROUND SCREEINING

Prior to placement, applicants may be asked to submit contact information for reference checks, and a background screening will be conducted that requires a state issued driver’s license or ID card and U.S. Social Security number.


COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
Compensation starts at $21.91 an hour

Benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision, chiropractor, life insurance, paid time off (vacation and sick leave), and paid holidays.  A retirement plan is offered through Orange County Employee Retirement System (OCERS).  Participation in a deferred compensation 457 plan and medical flex system plan is available as well.

The In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority is an entity separate from the County of Orange and its benefits; retirement plan and terms and conditions of employment will differ from those provided by the County.
